Four semi-nude cherubs have apparently been conscripted into the logistical nightmare of hauling a heart the size of a boulder through the clouds, and their rosy-cheeked enthusiasm for this unpaid labor is honestly unsettling. One wears a floral crown and clutches the heart with the grip of someone who has been hurt before; another drapes herself over the top like she owns it; a third on the lower right wields what appears to be a quill or brush with deeply suspicious confidence; and a fourth on the lower left is wrestling with a pink ribbon on the ground, presumably after losing a bet. The whole scene is framed by looping ribbons and garlands of tiny roses, which is the Victorian equivalent of adding a laugh track — a desperate attempt to convince you this is charming and not, in fact, four toddler-proportioned figures doing hard labor for Love.
