Victorian Valentine Card Two Red Hearts & Floral Bouquet

Two bulbous red hearts sit impaled by a single arrow and threaded onto an ornate skeleton key like some kind of romantic shish kebab — because apparently the best way to express 'I love you' is through light bondage and impalement. From the top of this cardiac wreckage sprouts a genuinely unhinged arrangement of pink blooms, red rosebuds, and two white doves who are apparently fine with all of this. The pale blue background gives the whole scene a dreamy, dissociative quality, as if the card itself is in shock. Victorians really said 'here's a key to my heart, also my heart has been stabbed, also there are birds' and handed this to someone they were trying to impress romantically.
