There's something simultaneously romantic and unsettling about this composition: Ireland has been reduced to a golden map draped in a green flag, with a woman's rosy-cheeked face embedded in a decorative oval medallion right in the geographic heart of the island — because apparently the best way to celebrate a nation is to turn it into a locket your grandmother would wear.
