Halloween Vintage Greeting Card with Devil & Fruit Bowl

Satan clearly believes he's landed a hospitality gig, because here he is—red, horned, tailed, and holding what is unmistakably a menu card beside a candlelit table set with a plate, cup, saucer, and knife, like the world's most cursed Applebee's. A bowl of sentient fruit with jack-o-lantern faces presides over the scene from a raised pedestal, judging everyone, while a small moon-faced figure lurks near a wine glass with the energy of a sommelier who knows too much. There's also what appears to be a doll or figurine lying prone on the dinner plate, which the Victorian designer apparently thought was a totally normal thing to include alongside fine dining and Satan. The whole tableau is labeled 'Hallowe'en' in festive lettering, because apparently in 1910 the appropriate way to wish someone a happy Halloween was to show them the Devil reviewing the evening's specials.
