Vintage Halloween Greeting Card with Witch and Black Cat

An air of bureaucratic menace permeates this scene: a pointy-hatted witch clutches a document behind what appears to be a pharmacy counter from hell, flanked by two extremely judgmental black cats — one wearing a bow, both radiating the energy of disappointed middle management. The cauldron hanging by chains at left has helpfully been labeled with a giant 'A,' because even witchcraft apparently requires proper inventory tagging. The poem cheerfully informs us that 'witches will not intervene' if you 'take good advice,' which is a deeply suspicious promise only someone who controls witches would feel the need to make. The bottom border of tiny marching witch hats and ghost faces rounds out what is essentially a Halloween card that reads like a mob protection racket written in cursive.
