Vintage Halloween Greeting Card with Jack-o'-Lanterns & Black Cats

The black cats here seem convinced they've been promoted to pumpkin valets—each one balancing a grinning gourd overhead like they're auditioning for Cirque du Soleil's Halloween special. Two more cats appear locked in what can only be described as an uncomfortably intimate staring contest in the center, their tails touching in a display of feline tension that Hallmark would never greenlight today. Dangling above it all, a cheerful row of apples bobs on strings—because when you think 'Happy Hallowe'en' (apostrophe included, apparently very important), obviously produce suspended from an invisible ceiling is the move. The whole composition reads less like a greeting card and more like the opening ceremony of a black cat union meeting where the gourds are the bosses.
