Vintage Thanksgiving Greeting Card with Children and Turkey

In what can only be described as enthusiastic participatory chaos, two identically dressed, identically coiffed children in white frocks and black shoes flank a magnificently fanned turkey like tiny, dead-eyed bookends — their arms flung wide, mid-stride. The turkey, to its credit, holds its ground in the center with the dignified posture of someone who has accepted its fate but refuses to make it easy. The forest backdrop and orange ground give the whole scene a warm autumnal glow that does absolutely nothing to soften the fact that this is clearly a chase, a cornering, or possibly a deeply unhinged children's interpretive dance routine. The cursive 'Thanksgiving Greeting' scrawled at the bottom is doing heroic work trying to convince you this is wholesome.
