A suspiciously well-dressed Victorian child in a polka-dotted red coat, white fur muff, and button boots — along with her dark umbrella and ruffled bonnet — suggest she's absolutely no business looking that smug while trudging through the snow, carrying a holly-adorned gift box like she's already won Christmas and knows it. Her coy little smile and six-year-old appearance with what appears to be a personal stylist indicate she's very aware that the dolls propped in the shop window behind her are watching. Those dolls, seated and lifeless, are either merchandise or witnesses — and frankly both options are unsettling. This card is technically a cheerful holiday greeting and is also somehow a power move.
