Victorian Easter Greetings Anthropomorphic Animals Card

For reasons the Victorian artist clearly did not interrogate, this upright rabbit has strapped a basket labeled 'Easter Greeting' to his back and is actively fleeing the scene — either delivering eggs or stealing them, depending on your faith in lagomorph integrity. Hot on his heels (or more accurately, shoved directly into his hindquarters) is a rooster in a red polka-dot jacket, clutching what appears to be a cracked egg at his feet, looking like he's been robbed mid-lay and is absolutely furious about it. The physical arrangement — bunny in front, rooster pressing aggressively from behind — radiates an energy that seems entirely unintended, and yet here we are. Apparently the Victorian artist's solution to depicting 'He is Risen' was a basket-toting rabbit locked in a footrace with an aggrieved chicken.
