Vintage Halloween Bat Die-Cut Greeting Card with Firecrackers

The bat's body has proportions wildly out of scale with its head — soft, rounded like a well-fed toddler dressed as a bat for a school play, wings spread wide in what reads less as 'terrifying creature of the night' and more as 'please clap.' Somebody's Victorian grandmother thought the perfect Halloween sentiment was this rust-brown bat with an inexplicably chubby, disturbingly human cat-face perched atop a grinning jack-o'-lantern flanked by two lit candles shooting sparkler-style bursts — and honestly, respect the chaos. There's text at the bottom of the card, presumably some cheerful rhyming couplet about friendship or witches, because apparently the way to express 'thinking of you' is through a baby-faced bat hovering over an open flame.
