Vintage Thanksgiving Greeting Card with Children & Corn, Early 1900s

Despite the card's cheerful 'Thanksgiving Greetings' message celebrating gratitude and abundance, the actual scene depicts two rosy-cheeked Victorian children treating a corn cob the size of a small horse as if it were a beloved pet or trophy, complete with gift wrapping. One child drapes themselves over the back of the enormous corn while the other stands upright waving an American flag and clutching what appears to be a small stick, mouth agape in either patriotic ecstasy or a cry for help. The gold script floats cheerfully above the chaos as if to assure you this is completely normal holiday content and not the agricultural fever dream it clearly is. Apparently, the way to express a grateful nation is through two children in coordinating Victorian outfits presenting gift-wrapped produce to an unsuspecting republic.
