Vintage Italian Christmas Card with Angel & Toy Cart

Like a very inefficient modern-day delivery driver, this full-grown angel—complete with enormous feathered wings, a floral crown, and a tasteful pink-and-green ensemble—manually hauls a wooden cart piled high with toys through a snowy landscape, because apparently divine beings don't get sleighs. The cart's chaotic cargo includes a toy soldier on horseback, a drum, a doll, and what appears to be a tiny Christmas tree, all crammed together in the aesthetic equivalent of a 19th-century Amazon delivery gone sideways. Her expression is one of serene, dead-eyed determination—the face of someone who absolutely volunteered for this assignment and absolutely regrets it. 'Buon Natale,' says the card, which is Italian for 'Merry Christmas' and also, apparently, 'angels do manual labor now.'
